Which India eVisa do you need?

• 30-day tourist eVisa. Single or double entry, valid 30 days from first arrival. Best for short tourist trips.
• 1-year tourist eVisa. Multiple entry, maximum 90 days per visit (180 days for US/UK/Canada/Japan nationals). For travellers making several trips in a year.
• 5-year tourist eVisa. Multiple entry, same per-visit caps as 1-year. Best for frequent business or family-visit travellers.
• Business and medical eVisas. 1-year multiple entry; require an invitation letter (business) or hospital documentation (medical).

Eligibility checklist

• Passport valid at least 6 months from intended arrival, with 2 blank pages.
• Recent portrait photo on a plain white background (5×5 cm equivalent, face only).
• Confirmed return / onward travel.
• Arrival at one of the 34 designated airports, 18 sea ports or 4 land checkposts.
• Pakistani-origin applicants and certain dual nationals are not eligible — apply at a consulate.

Processing time

Indian eVisas are typically approved in 3–4 working days. Apply at least 4 working days before travel (earliest 30 days in advance for the 30-day variant). Decisions arrive by email — print and carry alongside your passport. Bureau officers stamp the visa into the passport on arrival.
